As a professional you know that if you take care of your knives, they will take care of you. (Not to mention that repairs to broken tips, bent blades nicks and chips can be expensive... and can’t always be repaired.) You already know your knife is not a can opener, a screwdriver, a pry bar, box cutter or hammer—but sometimes in a rush it’s easy to want to use them that way!

Of course we’re throwing out the obvious: professionally sharpened knives in the hands of a novice can be dangerous. We encourage common sense and precautionary practices if you let your knives be used by someone less skilled.
